MOTS-c (Mitochondrial Open Reading Frame of the 12S rRNA Type-c)

Informative Description:  MOTS-c is a 16-amino-acid peptide derived from the mitochondrial genome. Unlike most peptides encoded in the cellular nucleus, MOTS-c is expressed directly from mitochondrial DNA, acting as an endocrine signaling molecule that regulates metabolic homeostasis throughout the body.                                            Peptide Function:
Metabolic Regulation: Promotes metabolic flexibility and enhances insulin sensitivity by activating the AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) pathway.
Mitochondrial Biogenesis: Stimulates the production of new mitochondria, optimizing the cell's capacity to generate cellular energy (ATP).
Glucose Homeostasis: Facilitates glucose uptake in skeletal muscle tissue independently of classical insulin signaling pathways.
Primary Uses (Research Applications):
Performance & Endurance Studies: Investigated for its ability to mimic the metabolic benefits of physical exercise, enhancing stamina and muscle oxidative capacity.
Longevity & Anti-Aging Research: Utilized in research models aimed at reversing age-related insulin resistance and combating cellular metabolic decline.
Body Composition Control: Evaluated in research protocols focused on reducing adiposity (fat tissue) and preventing metabolic-induced obesity.
