IGF-1 LR3 (Long R3 Insulin-like Growth Factor-1)


Informative Description:  IGF-1 LR3 is a highly potent synthetic analog of human Insulin-like Growth Factor-1 (IGF-1). It has been structurally modified by substituting glutamic acid with arginine at position 3 (R3) and adding a 13-amino-acid peptide extension at its N-terminus (Long). This chemical alteration drastically reduces its affinity for IGF-binding proteins (IGFBPs), which significantly increases its plasma half-life to approximately 20–30 hours, compared to the brief 20-minute half-life of the standard native version.
Molecular Function:
 Prolonged IGF-1 Receptor Activation: By evading binding proteins, a massive amount of the peptide remains free and biologically active to bind to cellular receptors, maximizing downstream intracellular signaling.
 Akt/mTOR Pathway Stimulation: Potently triggers the Akt/mTOR signaling cascade, the primary cellular mechanism responsible for driving protein synthesis, nitrogen retention, and overall cellular growth.
 Induction of Cellular Hyperplasia: Unlike other compounds that only increase the size of existing cells (hypertrophy), IGF-1 LR3 promotes the proliferation and differentiation of satellite cells, leading to the formation of entirely new muscle fibers.
